Filmscreening Res Nullius
On Wednesday 26 August, BRAL invites you to a special film evening featuring the documentary Res Nullius. After the screening, there’ll be a conversation with film director Thomas Jean, and time for discussion.
Res Nullius is a poetic documentary that invites us to look at the city in a different light. At the spaces between buildings, along railway lines and on derelict sites, where spontaneous nature carves out its own path. The film explores the intersections between biodiversity, urban planning and social justice, and poses fundamental questions about how we coexist with nature in an increasingly densely built-up city.
Nature rarely announces itself loudly. It grows amongst the stones, along a railway embankment or on a forgotten patch of land. Often, we only notice it when we slow down. When we look closely. When we learn to listen more carefully.
That is why BRAL is presenting this film at House of Compassion. A place of silence, right in the heart of the city’s hustle and bustle. A place that also plays a central role in the fight for justice. Feel free to arrive a little earlier and visit the exhibition WOOD(S), which runs until 30 August at House of Compassion.
