Evacuate Now!
Several Palestinian families in Belgium have been living in fear for their relatives in Gaza for months. These relatives hold visas or residence permits for Belgium but are unable to leave the Gaza Strip. The families are calling on the Belgian government to finally allow this evacuation to take place and to actively support it.
To reinforce this appeal, several family members went on hunger strike. Five of them have been staying at the House of Compassion since 22 September, supported by PALFAMSupport. Yet the government remains unresponsive to their plea. On medical advice, their hunger strike is now being phased out step by step. The occupation of the church continues, and new actions are planned. On this page, you will find background information, details of current and upcoming actions, and how you can support these families.

Hunger strike is drawing to a close, but the occupation continues
“After months of unbearable uncertainty, fear, sleepless nights, weekly protests, an open letter and countless appeals, we have barely been listened to and there has been very little attention paid to the indescribable suffering of our families and our children, who have been trying to survive the genocide in Gaza for far too long. We are not asking for favours or privileges, but simply that human rights and children’s rights be respected. This is also a call for empathy and solidarity: your support and your voice can help save lives and reunite torn-apart families. Save our families! Stop silencing our children’s voices to the point of death!”
