Call to join the Resisters for Peace, Freedom & Human Rights
In the face of rising racism, xenophobia and authoritarianism, diaspora organisations, ecological, feminist, antifascist and human rights movements are launching a network of Resisters for peace, freedom and human rights.
We are building a common front around 10 fundamental points.
- No to any form of dictatorship or authoritarianism (political, religious, educational or ideological).
- The right to free expression and fundamental freedoms.
- Full and effective guarantee of individual, collective and social freedoms and rights for all citizens and fellow residents, without distinction of origin, gender, religion, belief or social status.
- Respect for freedom of conscience, worship and belief for every citizen — whether religious, philosophical or otherwise — guaranteed by the neutrality and pluralism of public institutions, and by the separation of the State from all religious institutions.
- Promotion of real equality between all human beings, especially between women and men, in political, social, cultural, economic and educational rights. Prohibition of all forms of exploitation or discrimination.
Call to join the Resisters for Peace, Freedom & Human Rights Join us to help develop the remaining 5 points and build an international coalition towards a new Laeken Declaration.
Next meeting: Friday 15 May at 6:30 PM House of Compassion, Pl. du Béguinage 2062, 1000 Brussels
