DESCRIPTION:\nDocumentary Ceux qui veillent\nIn collaboration with BOp – the Brussels Ouderenplatform – and Screenbox, we are screening the documentary Ceux qui veillent, directed by the Brussels-based filmmaker Karima Saïdi. Ceux qui veillent follows the descendants of migrants from various religious backgrounds as they visit their deceased loved ones. Set in Brussels’ multi-faith cemetery, the film explores the deep bond between the living and their departed loved ones. With equal measures of tragedy, humour and poetry, the director dissects the anatomy of a cemetery, a place full of life: the last place where you can still have a chat, where people care for the deceased and keep watch over them.\nThe film will be in French, with Dutch subtitels.\nQ&A with director Karima Saïdi & free meal\nFollowing the screening, there will be a Q&A session with director Karima Saïdi, with plenty of time for questions from the audience. The Q&A will be in French, with simultaneous translation into Dutch.
