DESCRIPTION:House of Compassion will welcome politicians, associations, experts, families and supporters to the Beguinage Church on Sunday, October 4 at 3:00 p.m. Together they will discuss the following question: What does the evacuation of Palestinians in Gaza who hold a visa for Belgium mean in practice? Family reunification is a fundamental human right and a children’s right.\nProgramme\n3 p.m.:             Testimonies  Odey Abed (Engineer, CEO of The Light Group BV), spokesperson for the hunger strikers.\nAhmed Alderra (Master in Physical Education, Director of a\nSports School in Gaza), spokesperson for the Palestinian\nfamilies (PalFam).\nDr Mohammed Ayesh, who worked for many years as an\northopedic surgeon and trauma specialist in Gaza.\n3:20 – 3:30 p.m.: Literary Interlude – Ziad Musabeh\n3:30 – 4:50 p.m.: Evacuation Now… what concrete actions are needed?\nPoliticians, representatives of associations and families will engage\nin discussion on practical steps and solutions.\nParticipants:\nPierre Galand – representative of the Belgian-Palestinian Association.\nFenya Fischler – representative of A Different Jewish Voice, Shabbes\n24/7, and the Anti-Zionist Jewish Alliance in Belgium.\nJohan Depoortere – former VRT journalist and Palestine expert.\nJasmin Tabakovic – PhD in Anthropology, specialized in genocidal\nviolence and divisive practices (and himself a survivor of the genocide\nin Bosnia).\nMichel Staszewski – representative of the UPJB (Union of Progressive\nJews of Belgium).\nIlyas Mouani (Vooruit) – member of the Brussels Parlement\nPetya Obolensky (PTB) – member of the Brussels Parlement\nKhalid Zian (PS) – alderman of public works, international solidarity and religions.\nModerators:\nNadine Rosa-Rosso – PalFam Support\nGriet Van Meulder – PalFam Support\n5:00 p.m.: Human Chain Around the Church\n\nThis action is organized in solidarity with all Palestinian families holding a Belgian visa who remain trapped in Gaza, as well as with those currently on hunger strike.
