SUMMARY:Women in resistance in Russian prisons
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition is the result of a collaboration with the Russian women’s movement The Gentle Force (Mjagkaja Sila), which is against the war, but above all for a different Russia. This movement is based on mutual respect, human relations and interdependence. Eight of its members are currently in prison. Read the interview with Svetlana Utkina, one of the founders of The Gentle Force, in AXIE magazine here (in Dutch).\nThe exhibition highlights women who have been arrested for various reasons and who are scattered across Russia. Some are now household names, like Aleksandra Skochilenko, the artist who replaced price tags in St Petersburg shops with anti-war messages. Others attract little attention because they do not have a network around them. At the expo, you can write a personal message to comfort each of them personally.\nCome and meet 2 of these women who testify of the situation on March 20th.\nVisits to the exhibition are free of charge. It is open during House of Compassion opening hours:\n– Tuesday to Saturday: 11:00-17:00\n– Sunday: 14:00-17:00\n– closed every Monday\n
